Short Term Missions

Short Term Missions

You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.” Acts 1:8

Grace Community Church seeks to use our short term missions experience as an equipping tool for building followers of Jesus Christ among those distanced from Him. Short term mission trips are also an opportunity to support and serve our missionaries in the field.

Our purpose and objectives are to honor Jesus Christ and to help fulfill the Great Commission by encouraging, leading and equipping people to win the lost and build disciples. We seek to inspire, instruct, involve and impact those taking a trip and those being served.

AOET ~ Action for Empowerment “Educating a Generation of Orphans in Africa”

It is estimated this year that there are 25 million AIDS orphans in the world. AOET began in response to the orphan crisis in Uganda, where the greatest numbers of orphans live. The first Extending Grace team was sent to Jinja in 2005, to construct a building in Mugaluka for women’s empowerment. In 2007, Grace officially formed a partnership with AOET calling it EKISA, meaning Grace in Luganda. The objectives of this partnership are to…

1. Build and support organizational personnel and infrastructure capacities to provide quality services
2. Raise sponsorship for education of Orphan and Vulnerable Children (recruiting and retention)
3. Support entrepreneurship initiatives that promote self-sustainability
4. Extend the gospel to our communities

Each year we respond to the needs expressed by AOET-Uganda for Short-Term mission teams by recruiting, training, equipping and commissioning them into service. Your team participation, prayers and/or donation can change the future of Africa’s next generation, a generation threatened with extinction by AIDS, hungar, and internal conflicts.
